The small end. Laptops, phones, cameras, CPAP for a night.
Power stations under 500 Wh cover laptops, phones, cameras, CPAP machines for a single night, a couple of camp lights, maybe a small fridge for a few hours. Not enough for a hairdryer, an electric kettle, or a coffee maker running off the inverter. Good fit for weekend camping, photography, short power cuts, mobile workstations. What to look for: chemistry first — LiFePO4 packs (3,000+ cycles, slower degradation, marginally heavier) are the better long-term investment than NMC or older Li-ion, even when NMC units are sometimes cheaper sticker-side. Output wattage matters less here; you are not running power-hungry appliances anyway. A USB-C PD port at 60W+ is worth the small price premium.
